Sometimes a garage conversion cinema is difficult to get right due to the dimensions of the space.

The screen is slightly smaller than we would like based on the length of the room so we have brought the seating position forward.

This room however is wide enough to accommodate a Screen Excellence 140” acoustically transparent 2.35:1 fixed screen which will be amazing in this space.

We have chosen a fixed screen, as the room will be a dedicated home cinema used to watch film and sport.

As the room is nearly six meters long and could potentially have further rows of seating at a later date, we have designed the room with a Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 speaker configuration. The speakers that we have included are from Artcoustic and we will be using their Spitfire range for the front channels and SL range for the rears.

The requirement for this room is very straight forward

We want a room to spend quality time with family and friends. Somewhere to watch our favourite films and sport in really high quality.

As the room has no rear wall to position surround back speakers, these will be ceiling mounted in the drop section part of the ceiling.

When it came to choosing a suitable projector for this room, we looked at native 4K projectors from JVC and Sony and eventually chose the stunning Sony VPL-VW870.
